How to know if the quality of the webbing is good or bad?
In fact, the most direct way to verify the quality of a webbing is to burn it! The method of burning is to take out several warp and weft yarns of two unknown types, burn them with a lighter, and observe some physical phenomena during the burning process to determine the raw materials of the warp and weft yarns. Observe the odor and the condition of the ash after burning.
Special webbing: Near the flame, it only melts, it is difficult to ignite, and does not burn. The marginal flame is blue-green carbonized. The elastic webbing of the shoe material melts and decomposes. The gas is poisonous, and the melt is a hard round black bead. Fluorocarbon fibers are commonly used in the textile industry to make high-performance sewing threads. It is simple and easy to identify fibers by the combustion method, but it is not easy to judge the blended products.
Nylon webbing: It burns while melting near the fire. When burning, the flame is blue. When it leaves the fire, it continues to melt and burn, giving off a special irritating odor. After burning, the ashes are soft and loose black ash.
PP webbing: It is difficult to burn, it will be extinguished immediately after leaving the fire, the flame is yellow, and the lower end is green and white smoke, which distributes a pungent, pungent, and sour taste.
Polyester webbing: it melts near the flame, is flammable, burns slowly and emits black smoke when away from the fire, the upper end of the flame is yellow, the lower end is blue, and it smells of petroleum.
